What is Hastelloy C276 Flanges?
Hastelloy is an alloy of nickel molybdenum and chromium, and it is used for making the Hastelloy C276 Flanges. The alloy also consists of other elements like carbon, sulfur, silicon, manganese, iron, cobalt and phosphorus in its chemical composition. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges are mostly used for high temperature applications as it has a melting point of 1370 degrees C. The material is also known for possessing high tensile strength of 790 MPa, and its minimum yield strength is 355 MPa.
The Hastelloy C276 Flanges are basically manufactured using the forged process and hence they are high in strength. These are primarily made using one raw material, which helps them to stay in shape. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges are made using different national and international standards, like ASME, ANSI, DIN, and EN. It can be of the UNS N10276 or ASTM B564. Clients can customize the flanges available in this grade, their size ranges between ½” and 60”. They are also available in different pressure classes that range from 150 to 2500, and pressure number PN6 through PN64.
Different types of Hastelloy C276 Flanges are used for various applications across multiple industries, like off-shore oil drilling, gas processing, petrochemicals, power generation and many more.
ASTM B564 UNS N10276 Slip on Flange Vs Nickel C276 Lap Joint Flange
The ASTM B564 UNS N10276 Slip on Flange comes with a central bore and is used for several non-critical applications. These flanges are first slipped into the pipe and then double welded from inside and outside to establish a stronger connection.
The Nickel C276 Lap Joint Flange has a stub end with a lap joint flange placed just over it. It has two component assemblies, and the connection is mostly used for large and hard to adjust flanges. They are not as in use as the slip on flanges.
Wnr 2.4819 Weld Neck Flange Vs Nickel Alloy C276 Threaded Flange
The Wnr 2.4819 Weld Neck Flange comes with a high hub, and can relocate the stress to the pipe very easily. Due to their structure and high strength, they are widely used in various severe and critical applications. The Wnr 2.4819 Weld Neck Flange can effectively resist stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and general corrosion. They deliver high performance in chloride environments.
The Nickel Alloy C276 Threaded Flange comes with similar chemical composition but due to the difference in the structure, the threaded flanges are used for different purposes. Herein the male NPT connects with the female NPT, and thus there is no need for welding to establish the piping connection. This is why, the Nickel Alloy C276 Threaded Flange, are used in explosion or high risk prone areas of the piping system, where the welding procedure can compromise safety.
What are Testing Facility of Alloy C276 Flange?
The Testing Facility of Alloy C276 Flange consists of the following:
All these facilities help to test different properties of C276 alloy and ensure that the end product is accurate, high in quality and safe for usage.
