What is Incoloy 800 Pipe Fittings?
The Incoloy 800 material is an alloy of elements like iron, chromium, and nickel. The chemical composition of this alloy has helped it to develop some unique features, like stability. It is capable of maintaining its austenitic structure even after being exposed to high temperatures for a long time. They are also popular for their high strength and enhanced resistance to different types of environments, including aqueous, oxidizing, and reducing.
The machinability of Incoloy 800 Pipe Fittings is the same as that of any iron-based alloy fittings, which means they tend to be work-hardened while machining. They have good weldability and hence, can be welded using standard techniques. It shows high ductility and formability. Due to all these unique properties, the Incoloy 800 Pipe Fittings are used in a wide range of applications across various industries. It is used in heat exchangers, carburizing equipmney, heating elements, and so on.
The Incoloy 800 Pipe Fittings can retain its properties up to the temperature of 1500 degrees F. The chemical composition of the material has a very high nickel content, and that is why they are resistant to chloride related stress corrosion cracking, and embrittlement. The fittings are available in butt-welded and socket-welded forms, and there are different types of Incoloy 800 Pipe Fittings which are used for various purposes.
Alloy 800 Socket Weld Fittings Vs UNS N08800 Threaded Fittings
Nickel 800 Reducer Vs Incoloy 800 Equal Tee
The Nickel 800 Reducer is used for changing the size of the pipe from a larger to a smaller bore. They also help in controlling the rate of flow of the pipe run. There are two types of Nickel 800 Reducers, namely concentric reducers which are used for vertical applications and they are the most common ones, and eccentric reducers which are used for maintaining the same top or bottom level (horizontal applications).
The Incoloy 800 Equal Tee is a type of T-shaped fittings, that helps to combine or divide the flow, change the flow direction, and also control the rate of flow inside the pipe. For equal tee, the diameter of the branches or outlets is same as that of the main connection line.
Incoloy 800H Fittings Vs Incoloy 800Ht Buttweld Fittings
The main difference between the Incoloy 800H Fittings and the Incoloy 800Ht Buttweld Fittings, is in their chemical composition, which also impacts their properties. There is a restricted amount of aluminum and titanium in the 800Ht alloy, which enhances its creep and rupture properties.
UNS N08800 Short Radius Elbow vs WNR 1.4876 Long Radius Elbows
The primary difference between the UNS N08800 Short Radius Elbow and the WNR 1.4876 Long Radius Elbows are in their radius of curvature. While for short radius elbows, it is the same as that of the diameter of the pipe, for long radius elbows, it is 1.5 times the pipe’s diameter. The longer the radius, the more efficient the change in the flow direction.
