What is Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings?
The Hastelloy C276 material is a wrought alloy of chromium, nickel and molybdenum. It is one of the most versatile alloys that is highly resistant to corrosion. They also possess high resistance to stress related corrosion cracking, pitting, and oxidizing, upto the temperature of 1037 degrees C. They can also withstand a wide range of chemical environments. They can resist the formation of grain boundary precipitate, making them suitable for various chemical applications, in the welded conditions too. The Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings is used in the equipment for desulphurization of flue gas and different chemical processes.
The Hastelloy C276 material gets hard rapidly at the time of machining. They possess high strength and hence are used for different high-pressure applications. Alloy C276 Threaded Pipe Fittings Vs UNS N10276 Socket Weld Fittings

  • The Alloy C276 Threaded Pipe Fittings can be joined to the pipe using screws, and no welding is needed here. The UNS N10276 Socket Weld Fittings needs fillet weld to join with the pipe.
  • The Threaded Pipe Fittings can be installed very easily. They are mostly used on those pipes that need frequent assembling and disassembling. The Socket Weld Fittings have high strength and thus, can bear critical situations.
  • The threaded fittings are more affordable than the socket weld fittings, as the latter takes more time and effort to be installed.

Nickel C276 Elbow Vs ASTM B366 Alloy C276 Reducer
The Nickel C276 Elbow is used for changing the flow direction of the pipe run. They are available with a bend of 45 degrees and 90 degrees; the bend angle can be customized according to requirements. There are two types of elbows:

  • Short radius elbow- its radius of curvature is equal to diameter of the pipe.
  • Long radius elbow- its radius of curvature is 1.5 or more times the pipe’s diameter.

The ASTM B366 Alloy C276 Reducer is used for changing the pipe’s size from a larger to a smaller bore. There are two kinds of reducers, namely:

  • Concentric reducer- This is used for vertical pipes.
  • Eccentric reducer- This is used in the horizontal pipes, to maintain the same top or bottom level.

The DIN 2.4819 Reducing Tee is joined to the pipe using buttwelding, which is one of the simplest methods. Herein, the tee is placed by the pipe, and then they are welded to join together.
